Stairway to Heaven

Dear Tobey,

Why do Korean dramas have to be so damn depressing? I just watched a bit of Chun Gook eh Gueh Dan (sorry - that was my best phonetic spelling). Which translates to Stairway to Heaven. It is so freaking sad. It's about a girl who was tortured by her wicked stepmother and stepsister up until she grew up. She had a childhood crush which she actually ended up marrying even though all the odds were against her since her stepsister tried to steal him from her. So she basically has a crappy childhood. She grows up into the sweetest girl ever (you know - not a single mean bone in her body). And as she grows she gets hit by a car twice (one of which her stepsister was driving), and becomes blind from an eye cancer. During childhood her stepbrother actually ends up falling in love with her and they stay close as she grows up. But she does not know he loves her as she is in love with her childhood crush. Anyways! Long story short, the stepbrother ends up commiting suicide while protecting his eyeballs so that they could be surgically implanted into her so that she could see. She doesn't get to find out until wayy later in the movie when she finds out the cancer has spread to her brain. Her husband and her go crazy for one day and then try to spend the rest of their days happily together. And she dies in his arms. It's freaking horrible. What kind of people make movies like this? I'm seriously going to be depressed for the rest of my life! 99.
