It's difficult to explain to a non-book reader the experience of reading a book that leaves an indent on your thoughts. Permanently.
For me, reading a good book is better than a movie of equal goodness. I don't know exactly why this is so... but I think it's because I become so engulfed in the entirety of the book. It's like I'm in a completely different world. When you're watching a movie, you know you are watching just that. But when I read a book... I forget where I am, what time of the day it is... And it's totally unstoppable at times. I'll read for hours on end and I look up and can't believe that it's 3 in the am.
This is the most recent book I've loved. The Girls' Guide to Hunting and Fishing by Melissa Bank. I can't believe how many times this woman made me laugh out loud throughout this book. It's witty, sad, happy, and maddening all at the same time. It was unbelievable how much I could relate to the main character. And they are such small detailed items you wouldn't really notice in your everyday life. It's really just amazing. <3 <3 <3
Sometimes I wonder if Mike ever thinks that I'll grow up one day. Don't get me wrong. It's not that I'm not grown up. But I know that I like to be silly and act childish. I think that's why I love to hang out with my sister because she is so incredibly silly with me. We're just so dumb together. I absolutely love it. It's extremely hard to find someone you can be dumb with. I mean, I can't even really do it with Michael. Sometimes I think that he acts silly to make me happy. I'm not sure if he's doing it because he's having fun himself, or doing it to make me laugh. I guess it could be both. And would either be bad? I guess not. Then, I guess what I mean is... that it's hard to find someone to be dumb with naturally.
People might think that they are mature. Hell, I think that I'm mature! But every time I learn something new about life, it boggles my mind how much we really don't know. I guess it's safe to say that everyone is mature about different items on their plate. And they are very selective items at times. It's funny isn't it? Do you think anyone can be mature about everything in life? I think that would be amazing. And sort of boring too. I can't help but find myself happy and amazed in learning new things about myself and others.
